Gratitude on Repeat Campaign 2022 — Winner Announcement & Recap

Since the launch of our Gratitude on Repeat Campaign, Leighton Media has pushed to connect nonprofits with their community and then our radio waves to help bring their story to light.

Through our own marketing campaign including broadcast, social and direct mail, we asked our clients and listeners to nominate their favorite nonprofit to win 21 radio advertisements per week, for 13 consecutive weeks. Additionally, the winning nonprofits meet with one of our account executives for a discovery session who will then use that information to help them create, up to three unique messages to use in their radio advertising campaign.

We're pleased to share the 2022 Gratitude on Repeat Campaign winners and tell you a little about them.

ALEXANDRIA AREA YMCA

Alexandria

The Alexandria Area YMCA is much more than a community family wellness and fitness facility. It’s a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring access to quality facilities and programs, regardless of a family of child’s ability to pay. A cornerstone of the Y’s success is the fact that it enriches all members of the Alexandria community regardless of gender, age, race, religion or economic status.

The Alexandria Area YMCA is strong and growing! We’re excited to help them get the word out to the Alex community about all their Y has to offer through Gratitude on Repeat!

CORNERSTONE COMMUNITY AND YOUTH CENTER

DETROIT LAKES

Our Lakes Area Gratitude on Repeat recipient is Cornerstone Community & Youth Center in Frazee where they believe every child in the area needs to know they matter.

The Youth Center is a place where any youth can come together to hang out, grow and build relationships with one another and adults in our community. Cornerstone Community and Youth Center aim to develop a healthier community by providing healthy food, mentoring, physical fitness, arts, culture, and skill building in a safe and caring environment in Frazee.

SOMEPLACE SAFE

FERGUS FALLS

Someplace Safe works to create safer communities in West Central Minnesota by providing high-quality crime victim services to a nine-county region in West Central Minnesota.

Nearly 4,000 unduplicated local victims of crime are provided services each year through ten Advocacy Offices, five Parenting Time Centers, and three Thrift Stores located in Big Stone, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse, Wadena, and Wilkin Counties.

Someplace Safe works to assist victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, sex trafficking, labor trafficking, and other crimes (including; stalking, elder abuse, identity theft, robbery, theft, etc.), as they navigate the social, emotional, and economic impacts they face as victims on the path to becoming survivors.

Someplace safe shared the following message on their Facebook page when learning about their 2022 Gratitude on Repeat win: “We are so excited to receive a free advertising campaign from Leighton Media. Thank you to all who nominated us and congratulations to all the nonprofit winners!”

UNITED WAY OF GRAND FORKS

GRAND FORKS

The United Way works to build a bright future in the communities they serve.

Live: United Way programs help neighbors meet their basic needs such as safe housing and adequate food. Working to move families from uncertainty to stability and help them secure a place to call home and a brighter tomorrow.

Work: At the United Way their programs create a pathway to financial stability, equipping people with the tools needed to thrive in the workplace.

Learn: Youth thrive when they receive exceptional levels of care and support. The United Way works with families and the community to foster the growth and development of children.

RUFF START RESCUE

St. Cloud

They rallied to victory again! A Gratitude on Repeat recipient from 2018, Ruff Start Rescue knows the power of this campaign and is excited to once again, have been voted to the finish line and, thereby, receive free radio air time to tell their story!

Ruff Start Rescue is committed to saving the lives of at-risk animals. They do this not only through their volunteers' dedication to helping pets but also through collaborating, communicating, and educating the community on the importance of animal rescue and welfare. Their vision: strive for a world where every companion animal has a safe and loving forever home.

Congratulations on your 2022 G.O.R. victory in the St. Cloud market, Ruff Start Rescue!

HOME AND COMMUNITY OPTIONS

Winona

Home and Community Options, Inc., provides support and residential services to people with developmental disabilities. These services are developed by the individual and their support team and financed by a variety of funding sources.

Programs of HCO include 24-hour residential care settings, a 24-unit apartment complex funded by HUD, programs to support people who live semi-independently, and support services for those who live with their families.

All services are designed to build skills, maximize growth, and allow individuals to maintain both independence and self-sufficiency.

When learning of their receipt of the 2022 Gratitude on Repeat campaign in our Winona market, Home and Community Options shared the following on their Facebook page: “#HCOfamily, check it out – we won Leighton’s Gratitude on Repeat Campaign for Winona!!!! Thank you to Leighton Media and all those who voted for us for your tremendous support!!!”

Their excitement brought a grin to our faces and filled us with joy; this is what Gratitude on Repeat is all about!
