Since the launch of our Gratitude on Repeat Campaign, Leighton Broadcasting has pushed to connect nonprofits with radio resources to help their cause come to life. It’s part of our passion to serve, connect, and celebrate our communities since 1975. Through our social media platforms, we asked our listeners to nominate their favorite nonprofit to win 21 radio advertisements per week, for 13 consecutive weeks. Additionally, the winning nonprofits will meet with one of our account executives who will help them create as many as three unique messages for the them to use in their business efforts.
We are pleased to announce the results are in and this year was a success! The winners for the 2019 Gratitude on Repeat Campaign are highlighted in the video below.
Lend a Hand Up was created in February 2008 as a means to help local families in need of financial help for their medical bills. This nonprofit has raised more than $14 million, helping over 500 families in the Detroit Lakes area.
"As we venture into a new decade of raising help and hope for individuals facing tough medical challenges, we plan to help more families through Lend A Hand Up’s innovative giving strategies. By providing structured, trustworthy and comfortable giving options – and then maximizing the impact of generosity – we are able to offer a caring hand up to people we care about…when life matters most." — Jeana Peinovich, Lend A Hand Up Director.
Otter Cove Children’s Museum is an educational institution founded in 2018 that offers children unique learning experiences through physical play and artistic exploration. They encourage imagination, everything can be touched, climbed on — you name it. Without the restrictions sometimes seen when taking kids to a museum, this nonprofit gives children an experience they’ll never forget.
Their vision: "We envision Otter Tail County as the best place to grow up, where caring adults help all children grow-up inspired by life’s possibilities and prepared to meet the world head-on."
Rescue. Nurture. Adopt. Educate. These are the values Journey Home Animal Rescue holds dearly. Based in Grand Forks, the nonprofit was founded in 2018 through a group of dedicated individuals — recognizing a need for supportive, foster-based rescue. They believe in being a part of an animal’s journey, showing love and care is something truly special.
When vision is backed by a community, dreams become a reality. For Quiet Oaks Hospice House, their story began in 2004 with three St. Cloud families who experienced the death of a loved one, all terminally ill. The need these families saw: a place to comfort individuals at the end of life. Their vision captured the hearts of the community and has created Quiet Oaks Hospice House with its support.
"We can do it. Together." Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit that houses organizations operated on Christian principles that bring God’s love into action through building homes and communities. Habitat for Humanity Winona-Filmore Counties helps bring the global cause to life by building abroad in Mexico.
These nonprofits live and breathe their causes. It’s inspiring to put the words into this blog; their messages are simply so powerful. To our nonprofit partners across all of our markets, we hope our radio advertising at Leighton Broadcasting strengthens your ties to the community. We are forever grateful for your service to our communities.
